Why do military conflicts still exist in the 21st century?
A simple question to ask but an incredibly challenging one to find an answer for.
We shall mark the 21st century in history with progressive technologies, reaching productivity levels, global collaboration, and even sustainability in consideration yet military conflicts do still exist.
Is not it enough indication of viable mutual co-development instead of fighting for the territorial interests of power application – fighting by those technologically developed munitions, which are supposed to detect the level of technological progress and humanity instead of humiliations?
It is about individuals we give the power to execute.
Trying to answer that question myself, I finally concluded: that battle is not about geographical or geopolitical re-consideration – it is about individuals we give the power to execute.
The tragedy of the actual century lies in the fact that not all the states are democratic, and even in the democratic ones, we can still witness the “delegated by electors’ power” misuse.
Therefore, it is not about geopolitics but mostly about the interests of individuals “in power.”
An entire business structure with the pronouns “my,” “me,” and “mine.”
Stepping slightly aside from the discussed topic, I would like to provide you with the next example.
I have been observing such a behavioural pattern quite often. The CEO, for instance, of a medium or scaled-up corporation during negotiations refers to an entire business structure with the pronouns “my,” “me,” and “mine.”
Can you recognize the situation? What about all those other contributors to the value creation of that business? At that moment of unlimited power, he or she simply forgets about all others.
The nobility of sustainable development in the 21st century is to collaborate.
The same behaviour can be observed in governmental circles. If an individual in power grows in the conditions of democracy the electorate can control the behaviour yet just to some extent.
We could only guess that in non-democratic formations the power of a specific individual is uncontrolled since governmental regimes or “climate” maintain such behaviour of an individual in power. Moreover, such a governmental climate constructs the governmental system for the purpose.
The nobility of sustainable development in the 21st century is to collaborate and not invade…
Specifically, to attain that honourable goal, I offer the model of effective management across the macro-regions in my first book “The Touch Points” to the audience of my readers.
We do need to exceed beyond military conflicts in the 21st century and afterwards.
I heartfully hope for peace all over the world and for the right individuals in power to whom we can undoubtfully delegate the representation of our righteous interests. Let us sustain a strong collaborative global environment not only by words but by actions as well.
