I devoted the whole chapter to Leader of the Future in my first book of The Touch Points trilogy.
Before I shed some light on the main characteristics of a perfect leader of the future described in my book, I would like to refer to Alfred P. Sloan.
The individual who has the courage, the ambition to overcome obstacles.
There has to be this pioneer, the individual who has the courage, and the ambition to overcome the obstacles that always develop when one tries to do something worthwhile, especially when it is new and different.
Alfred P. Sloan | Long-time executive of General Motors Corporation
The understanding of the terms “leader” and “mentor” is not distinct. We see many statements on the majority of social media platforms, which demolish the border of the perception of the terms. That conglomeration made me think…
Therefore, I decided to present some of my thoughts on the topic from the first book of The Touch Points trilogy here.
Motivating without emphasis on motivation as such.
We need leaders. And here we are talking with the reader not only about the ability to lead. It would be more appropriate to characterize such leadership, as more than motivating without emphasis on motivation as such.
To lead despite any obstacles.
Our leaders of the future are meant not to be led by the influence of any circumstances but to lead despite any obstacles.
Leaders of the future are well-trained professionals in their field, with the perception of a complex situation, anticipating it to the composition up to the tiniest detail.
Our chosen ones – representatives of all states without exception – before conducting such a responsible mission, must be psychologically assessed for the presence of all the characteristics of humanity.
The author and the reader discuss the indication of the absence of any aggression among the characteristics of leaders of the future.
Moreover, their neutral position would be ideal, for instance, in the absence of any geopolitical preferences – both to their own state and to the countries, bordering their country of origin. And the main challenge is preparing the carefully elected ones for a globally responsible mission.
If we initially create conditions for multidimensional development, meaning by this a comprehensive training program, including, for example, the best literary works from all over the world without focusing on the differences in religious bias. Then, theoretically, we could thereby form the objectivity of views and judgments.
Leaders of the Future.
It is them (leaders of the future) that are such multifacetedly trained representatives of nations who could make more than balanced decisions intending to achieve the balanced development of the world.
Why shall we think about leaders of the future right now?
Because now, for a relatively short historical time, we witness the redistribution of state formations (former USSR, countries of the socialist campsite of Eastern Europe), natural, man-made and human disasters (nuclear tragedies, conflict zones), re-formation of ecological systems (destruction of water areas of natural reservoirs, creation of artificial superstructures being incompatible with the natural ecological systems) – we are at that unique moment in time, which provokes a reassessment of the attitudes and relationships towards globally responsible decision-making.
Is it possible to master such complexity by a group of even unconditional professionals – leaders of the future?
Theoretically – yes. Practically, we need to work on this with dedication.
